Frustrations – Argh…venting

Do you ever deal with frustrations?  I am not one that has really had many dealings with them over my life.  Things never really frustrated me much before.  Not like lately.  Maybe its the pregnancy, or just getting older.  You just want a sanctuary of peace and quiet at times and respect of others.  Is it just being frustrated or is this era of people just lacking in the respect area?  First there was the booming music, then lately people smoking outside with it traveling into our windows, the neighbor’s cats fighting on our car and scratching it, the pets constantly shaking on us, more loud music booming by, and so on..  Why oh why is it bothersome now?  Its not like the people who smoke just moved in, its never came in the windows really before.  Its not like the cats are new either, why all of a sudden on our car?  Its not like the pets never shook their heads, but why do they have to come right up next to us and then do it and then walk away?  Booming music…well, can’t people respect that people may be resting in the areas they are driving through or that the neighbors may want to enjoy their own peace and quiet?  Do people really only care about themselves?  We are all trying to live together, why not understand that.  I don’t go over there letting my dog poop on their sidewalk for them to clean up, nor do I expect them to have to hear my music or what I am watching on TV.  I don’t want to disturb anyone in the apartment complex by vacuuming early or running the washing machine late at night.  Where does this imaginary idea that others share the same values or some common morals or etiquette come from?  You would think others may have learned these things or even think about them, but if never shown or taught them this is the respect or lack there of that is apparent in the world.  Total disrespect.  Trashing your cigarette butts out the window, cutting people off in traffic nearly causing an accident, zipping in and out of traffic, not paying attention to the road or giving proper space between the car in front of you – the lists can go on and on.  While endangering your life, did the other people want you to include them?  Do they want to be involved in your pollution of the body?  Most would say NO.  Why not think of others then?  Consider what the other person my be going through.  When you smoke that cigarette, think about the person next to you – maybe they are allergic to it or have a breathing problem.  When you cut that person off, maybe they have a handicap and can’t respond so quickly or if they are a semi can’t stop in a dimes notice.  Do you ever consider that?  When you have pets, make sure you train them not to bark at 11 pm at night outside non stop – you don’t want to hear them, but what about all your neighbors too.  Think about others when you live in a condo or apartment complex, your TV and music echos backward through the wall if you share it.  Are you aware of that, or how loud or when you do such things?  Maybe they have to work early, or have little kids who are sick and having trouble sleeping with loud noises.  The point is we all need to be more thoughtful in some way.  We can’t believe society telling us it is all about us when its not.  We all share this world and probably would all love to enjoy peace and rest at some time.  Just be thoughtful more of those around you and pray for the strength of God to get through the times when others can’t see what they do.

Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me.

This is a verse I turned to tonight and I am trying to find comfort in it.  I CAN make it through with Christ’s strength alone, through all trials and temptations.  For when I do, I shall be strengthened more in God.
