Psalm 23
Psalm 23
The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
The Lord has reassured me this morning that though the enemy pursues me, even in my dreams as I slumber, that He is always there with me. He will protect the way; I need not worry. He makes it so I don’t have to be afraid. I can lie down in green pastures, beautiful and serene. He leads me beside quiet waters. I spend the time with my Lord relaxing under the tree by the trickling spring and am also reminded of all those who come to the healing waters to be cleansed and renewed for the Lord. My Lord reassures me I am safe in his arms. He restores my soul so I can press on in the world not of my own for the purposes and glory of God. For God is my rock and my shield, an ever present help in trouble and in joy. Ever present…He will never leave you nor forsake you, always there. No matter what you may walk through, or the fear you feel around you, God is always there to protect you saying “do not be afraid, for I am with you.” We can take comfort in knowing that our God is the only true God proven faithful, true, righteous, holy and just. Ever present, active, and glorious.
Psalm 25:4-5
Show me your ways, O Lord, teach me your paths; guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.
